Description
This cinnamon brown sugar syrup is perfect for adding to coffee, tea, cocktails, or drizzling over pancakes!
Ingredients

- 2 cups brown sugar (light or dark, 250g)
- 1 cup water (235ml)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Stir the brown sugar and water together in a small saucepan over a medium heat, until the sugar dissolves, but don’t allow it to boil.
- Add the cinnamon stick, reduce the heat and let the cinnamon brown sugar syrup simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and allow the simple syrup to cool, then remove the cinnamon stick. If using vanilla, stir it in now.
- Pour it into a clean jar or bottle. The syrup can be stored in the fridge for up to 1-2 weeks in an airtight container.
- To store for longer, or for gifting, store in a sterilized jar or bottle for up to a month.
