Description
A spooky Halloween appetizer—mushrooms stuffed with mozzarella and topped with olive “pupils.”
Ingredients

- 12 Button mushrooms (stems removed)
- 12 Mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
- 12 Black olives (sliced for pupils)
- Marinara or balsamic glaze
- Olive oil
- Garlic powder
- Salt & pepper
- Fresh parsley (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
- Clean mushrooms and remove stems.
- Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place one mozzarella ball inside each mushroom cap.
- Top with a black olive slice in the center to look like an eyeball.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until mushrooms are tender and cheese slightly melted.
- Drizzle marinara or balsamic glaze around the “eyes” for a creepy effect.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the seasoning.
- These can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley for added color.
