Description

A spooky Halloween appetizer—mushrooms stuffed with mozzarella and topped with olive “pupils.”

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Button mushrooms (stems removed)
  • 12 Mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • 12 Black olives (sliced for pupils)
  • Marinara or balsamic glaze
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper
  • Fresh parsley (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Clean mushrooms and remove stems.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Place one mozzarella ball inside each mushroom cap.
  5. Top with a black olive slice in the center to look like an eyeball.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until mushrooms are tender and cheese slightly melted.
  7. Drizzle marinara or balsamic glaze around the “eyes” for a creepy effect.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the seasoning.
  • These can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley for added color.
