Description

Golden fried chicken bites glazed in sweet heat, served alongside rich and cheesy macaroni.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni (cooked)
  • 2 chicken breasts (cubed)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup honey hot sauce glaze (honey + hot sauce mix)
  • 1/2 cup flour (for coating)
  • 1 egg (for dredging)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp flour (for roux)
  • 1/4 cup crispy fried onions (for topping)
  • Fresh chives (for garnish)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Coat chicken pieces in flour, egg, then breadcrumbs. Fry until golden and crispy. Toss in honey-hot glaze.
  2. For mac & cheese, melt butter in a pan, whisk in flour to form a roux, then slowly add milk.
  3. Stir in shredded cheddar, whisking until creamy and smooth.
  4. Add cooked macaroni, season with salt and pepper, and stir to coat.
  5. Transfer mac & cheese to a serving bowl and top with crispy fried onions.
  6. Arrange honey hot chicken bites on the side.
  7. Garnish both with fresh chives and serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust the level of hot sauce in the glaze to suit your spice preference.
  • For extra creaminess, add more cheese to the mac & cheese.
  • Leftover chicken can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
