Description

A rich, velvety Cajun cream sauce drapes tender shrimp, served over buttery mashed potatoes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes until fork-tender, then mash with butter, cream, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp, season with Cajun spice, and cook until pink (2–3 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
  4. Deglaze pan with chicken broth, stir in heavy cream, and whisk until thickened.
  5. Add more Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Return shrimp to skillet, coat in sauce, and sprinkle with parsley.
  7. Serve shrimp and creamy sauce over mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • This dish can be served with a side salad for added freshness.
  • To adjust the spice level, modify the amount of Cajun seasoning used.
