- 1 cup Sugar (for caramel)
- 4 Eggs
- 2 cups Heavy cream
- 1 pre-baked Tart crust
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- Powdered sugar (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a tart crust and blind bake until lightly golden.
- In a saucepan, melt sugar until golden caramel forms, then carefully whisk in butter and cream.
- Allow caramel to cool slightly, then whisk in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour filling into the baked tart shell and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until custard is just set but still slightly wobbly in the center.
- Cool completely, then refrigerate for 2 hours to firm up.
- Dust with powdered sugar before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Ensure the caramel does not burn while melting.
- For a richer flavor, use high-quality vanilla extract.
- Let the tart cool completely before refrigerating to achieve the best texture.
