Description

Ingredients

  • Red velvet cake mix (or cocoa powder + red food coloring)
  • Active dry yeast
  • Cinnamon
  • Cream cheese
  • All-purpose flour
  • Warm milk
  • Granulated sugar
  • Unsalted butter
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast in warm milk with a bit of sugar; let it foam.
  2. Mix yeast mixture with red velvet cake mix, flour, butter, and knead until smooth; let rise for 1 hour.
  3. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mix.
  4. Roll tightly into a log, slice into 8 even rolls, and arrange in a greased baking dish.
  5. Cover and let rise for another 30–40 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 25–28 minutes until puffed and slightly golden at the edges.
  7. Whip cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt into glaze; drizzle generously over warm rolls.
