Ingredients
- Red velvet cake mix (or cocoa powder + red food coloring)
- Active dry yeast
- Cinnamon
- Cream cheese
- All-purpose flour
- Warm milk
- Granulated sugar
- Unsalted butter
- Powdered sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Activate yeast in warm milk with a bit of sugar; let it foam.
- Mix yeast mixture with red velvet cake mix, flour, butter, and knead until smooth; let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mix.
- Roll tightly into a log, slice into 8 even rolls, and arrange in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for another 30–40 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 25–28 minutes until puffed and slightly golden at the edges.
- Whip cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt into glaze; drizzle generously over warm rolls.

- Ensure the milk is warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast.
