Description

A delicious turkey and cheese bake that’s easy to prepare and perfect for any meal!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 toasted burger buns, torn into pieces
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground turkey for 7-10 minutes until no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add diced onion and sauté for about 3 minutes until soft.
  4. In a bowl, mix cooked turkey mixture with ketchup and mustard, then stir in torn burger buns until well combined.
  5. Layer half of the mixture in the baking dish, sprinkle half the cheddar cheese on top, add the remaining turkey mixture, and finish with the rest of the cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, consider adding some red pepper flakes or jalapeños.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
