- 1 lb flank or sirloin steak strips
- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 1 cup queso cheese sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup bell peppers, chopped (red, yellow, green)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the rice according to package instructions until fluffy.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions and bell peppers for about 5 minutes until tender.
- Add the steak strips to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until browned (approximately 5 minutes).
- Pour in the queso cheese sauce and stir until everything is well-coated.
- Fold in the cooked rice, ensuring even distribution of the cheesy mixture.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro or jalapeños if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, include jalapeños in the sauté.
- Fresh cilantro enhances the flavor when served as a garnish.
