Description
Delicious jalapeno cheese twists made with crescent roll dough, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese, perfect as an appetizer or snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package crescent roll dough
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1–2 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. Pinch together the seams to create a solid sheet.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Cut the dough into triangles, about 4-5 inches in size.
- Place a generous spoonful of the cheese mixture at the wide end of each triangle.
- Starting from the wide end, carefully roll up the triangle towards the point, forming a twist.
- Once rolled, gently twist the ends to enhance the shape and seal the filling inside.
- Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the twists are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- These twists are best served warm but can also be enjoyed at room temperature.
- For extra spice, include seeds from the jalapenos.
