Description

Delicious jalapeno cheese twists made with crescent roll dough, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese, perfect as an appetizer or snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. Pinch together the seams to create a solid sheet.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Cut the dough into triangles, about 4-5 inches in size.
  5. Place a generous spoonful of the cheese mixture at the wide end of each triangle.
  6. Starting from the wide end, carefully roll up the triangle towards the point, forming a twist.
  7. Once rolled, gently twist the ends to enhance the shape and seal the filling inside.
  8. Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the twists are golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let them cool for 10-15 minutes.
  12. Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • These twists are best served warm but can also be enjoyed at room temperature.
