Description

Deliciously moist chocolate donuts with a hint of peppermint, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  6. Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Optionally, glaze with chocolate and sprinkle extra mini chocolate chips on top.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add chocolate glaze on top of the donuts.
  • These donuts are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
