Deliciously moist chocolate donuts with a hint of peppermint, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optionally, glaze with chocolate and sprinkle extra mini chocolate chips on top.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add chocolate glaze on top of the donuts.
- These donuts are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
