Description

This slow cooker BBQ chicken is easy to prepare and full of flavor, perfect for any gathering or family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram (2lb) chicken breast (approximately 3 large chicken breasts)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Sprinkle the spice mix over the chicken and turn to coat both sides.
  4. Pour the BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar over the chicken and gently mix to coat.
  5. Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high for 3 hours or on low for 6 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  6. Use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker and stir it through the sauce.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve or store as desired.
